LISTEX™, approved as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the US FDA, to control Listeria monocytogenes in cheese.  LISTEX™ is the first bacteriophage product to receive GRAS recognition by the FDA. [Press Release PDF]

EBI Food Safety has appointed Dr. Steven Hagens as its Chief Scientific Officer. Previously Dr. Hagens held a post-doctoral position in the laboratory for Food Microbiology at the Institute of Food Science and Nutrition - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETHZ). His work focused on optimising phages for recognition and elimination of Listeria mononocytogenes and Salmonella spp. [Press Release PDF]
